The Karol Hotel Welcomes Back Guests Nov. 11

TAMPA– Tampa-based Mainsail Lodging & Development has announced the reopening of The Karol Hotel (2675 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater, Florida) on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Centrally located in beautiful Feather Sound between Clearwater, St. Pete and Tampa, and the first member of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio in Pinellas County, The Karol Hotel is welcoming guests back after a temporary closure due to the pandemic. High atop the 12-story hotel, the signature Vantage Rooftop Bar will once again be serving artisan cocktails, local craft beers, tapas, and breathtaking views from its unique, climate-controlled setting, with other onsite dining venues returning to operation as soon as possible. To celebrate their reopening, rates at The Karol Hotel will start at just $114*, and from Nov. 11 through Dec. 15, all reservations will include a $25 food and beverage voucher, making it a perfect option for area residents in search of a staycation or those hosting friends and family for the upcoming holidays.

“Our team has been working tirelessly to put new health measures in place, and we’re thrilled for guests to come and safely experience this magnificent new hotel,” said Adam Duffey, General Manager. “We’re including the food and beverage credit to help celebrate our return and welcome everyone back.”

Vantage Rooftop Bar is a rooftop retreat unlike any other in the area, with a climate-controlled environment that allows year-round enjoyment. Guests and local residents will be able to enjoy featured menu items including a selection of grazing boards, pimento cheese & pork rinds, fresh shucked oysters, burgers, chef-inspired entrees and more, while taking in stunning views of downtown Tampa’s skyline. The rooftop bar is also available for small private social or business gatherings, with ample room to maintain appropriate social distancing. No visit to Vantage Rooftop Bar will be complete without a photo under the custom neon lights that read, “Don’t I know you from somewhere?” – the famous pick-up line Fred used to grab Karol’s attention. As of Nov. 11, hours of operation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Karol Hotel is named for and inspired by Karol Kelly Bullard, “Miss Karol K,” wife of Fred Bullard, CEO of The Bullard Group, developer and owner of the property. The boutique hotel features 123 guest rooms and suites; the Vantage Rooftop Bar overlooking Tampa Bay; the signature K Club Bar & Bistro (temporarily closed); a combined 7,340 square feet of event space, including a ballroom and executive conference rooms; and an outside pool and fitness center. A towering tribute to Miss Karol K, the hotel’s design and décor are a stylish reflection of her remarkable life – from her early days as Miss Florida and Florida’s first “weather woman” to her current role as community activist and philanthropist.

“During the time apart, our team also partnered with Feeding Tampa Bay to help prepare and package 80,000 meals for the Tampa Bay community, which is a great testament to Fred and Karol’s legacy and their commitment to helping those in need,” added Duffey.

The Karol Hotel takes standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and has taken additional steps to ensure the continued safety of guests and staff. Health and safety measures include handwashing hygiene, cleaning product specifications, electrostatic spraying in all public areas, guest room and common area cleaning procedures, daily temperature checks for all staff, and more. To promote the health and safety of our guests, face coverings are required for guests and associates in all indoor public areas. Social distancing guidelines and protocols from Marriott International are also strictly followed.
