Hyatt House Chicago/West Loop-Fulton Market Reopens With Enhanced Health And Safety Measures
CHICAGO—Hyatt House Chicago/West Loop-Fulton Market announced today that with a focus on guest and associate health, enhanced cleanliness and disinfection protocols, and physical distancing measures, the 200-room extended-stay hotel is currently accepting reservations and will begin welcoming guests back starting today, June 15.
“The health and safety of our guests and associates are, and always will be, our top priority. We are excited to share the enhancements we’ve made to our already stringent cleaning protocols as well as the implementation of physical distancing guidelines and focus on health and wellness to ensure travelers can confidently and comfortably enjoy their stay with us, as well as ensure our associates have the proper training and tools to safely conduct their roles and serve our guests,” said General Manager Tony Marco. “While the guest experience might look a little different, we can’t wait to provide the same level of service and warm hospitality our guests know and love in a safe and clean environment upon reopening.”
In accordance with guidance from the CDC and local health officials, guests can expect changes and new cleaning and distancing protocols designed with their safety in mind, including:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
All associates will wear appropriate PPE, including a face mask and gloves, as part of their uniforms.
New PPE will be provided to associates at the start of each shift to be disposed of and replaced after each use.
Disposable face masks and gel sanitizers will be available for guests at the front desk upon request.
As recommended by the CDC’s social distancing guidelines, guests and associates shall practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other people not traveling with them.
Any area where guests or associates gather will be clearly marked for appropriate physical distancing with decals and/or signage.
When applicable, lobby furniture and other public seating areas will be reconfigured to promote distancing.
As an additional safety measure, contactless check-in and mobile room keys through the Hyatt app will be available and encouraged.
Emphasis on Hygiene and Cleanliness
In accordance with CDC recommendations, all associates shall wash their hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds at the beginning of each shift and at least once every hour, especially during key times when germs are likely to spread (while cleaning, after using the restroom, after sneezing or coughing, etc.) as well as prior to putting on personal protective equipment (PPE).
Health and Safety Signage
Signage displaying health and hygiene reminders, including the proper way to wear, handle and dispose of face masks, proper handwashing and sneezing techniques, social distancing guidance, as well as the importance of avoiding touching your face, will be prominently displayed in all high-trafficking areas of the hotel.
Deeper, More Frequent Cleaning
Enhanced cleaning protocols will require frequent and thorough cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch areas and items.
EPA-approved Ecolab cleaning solution will be used throughout the hotel.
As proper training is essential to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our associates and guests, all associates will receive training on these enhanced cleaning and safety protocols.
Additionally, a designated Cleanliness Champion will be responsible for leading and facilitating cleanliness protocols to ensure guest and associate safety.
In addition to hosting overnight travelers, Hyatt House Chicago is offering guest room day-use options for local professionals seeking a clean and comfortable remote workspace, complete with phone and desk setups and free high-speed internet.
