Lisa Checchio, EVP and chief marketing officer for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, sits down with Hotel Community Forum to discuss how the company has helped franchisees during the Coronavirus pandemic through its “Count On Us” initiative. Checcio also details some of the changes that will be taking place at the property level going forward.

    Lisa Borromeo Checchio leads revenue generation strategy for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts driving brand awareness, engagement and affinity for some of the world’s most iconic hotel brands representing more than 9,200 hotels in over 80 countries.
    As Wyndham’s Chief Marketing Officer, Lisa champions the company’s 20 hotel brands by creating meaningful brand experiences for hoteliers and guests alike. In this role, she guides the company’s loyalty program, Wyndham Rewards, and digital channels, as well as customer engagement; brand marketing; brand experience; integrated media; global distribution; revenue management; owner communications; public relations; global sales; and sales enablement marketing.
    Throughout her tenure at Wyndham, Lisa has received recognition across the industry, most recently in Ad Age’s 2019 ‘40 Under 40’ listing for her work advancing Wyndham’s brands through marketing. She has also been honored by several industry publications including Hotel Management Magazine’s 2018 ranking of the Most Influential Women in Hospitality; Lodging Magazine’s 15 Women Making their Mark on Hospitality in 2017; and Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI) Top 25 Extraordinary Minds 2016.
    She is a Member of the Board for The HSMAI Foundation, an organization working to cultivate talent and leadership in hospitality. She also serves as a Member of the Board for Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity.
    Before joining Wyndham in 2015, Lisa spent 11 years at JetBlue Airways overseeing brand strategy and the execution of marketing programs, advertising, sponsorships, brand communications and design. Prior to JetBlue, she worked in event management in professional tennis (a personal passion) for several years. She earned her degree in Economics from the George Washington University.
    Lisa lives in New Jersey with her husband and three sons. She is based in Wyndham’s Parsippany, N.J. offices.
